Eat Lah was born from a craving for home and a hunger for something more. When Mel longed for the vibrant, herb-laced dishes of her Malaysian roots—especially the strikingly blue Nasi Kerabu—her partner Rob began experimenting in their London kitchen. What started as a way to bring comfort and connection soon became a full-blown obsession with Malaysian cuisine. In 2019, Rob took a leap from his day job and launched Eat Lah as a street food stall, introducing Londoners to bold, unapologetic flavours that told a story.
Every plate they serve carries a piece of that journey—from late-night recipe testing to feeding queues of curious food lovers across the city. More than just a business, Eat Lah is a love letter to culture, identity, and the power of food to bring people together. And it all began with one simple request: “Can you make Nasi Kerabu?”
